Blackbraid quickly followed up their 2022 debut in 2023 with more native folk infused furious black metal. This is by no means a sophomore slump as it is equally excellent, methodical, melodical, and approachable as the first record. 9/10

From the first riffs and notes you are entranced by the majestic power of VORGA. Beyond The Palest Star is among the best black metal albums of this year, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it lands at the top for a lot of fans. Get out of their way; album three will no doubt be pantheon level for the genre. The growth from the last release is quite substantial. Cosmic Judgement comes for you!
